Outdoor Round Trash Can

We are looking to purchase some new commercial trash cans. Are their benefits to implementing an outdoor round trash can around our facility?

We would be happy to help you with this and look for other info on our blog. In addition, feel free to submit any other questions that you may have!

An outdoor round trash can is easier to empty. Because of the lack of any edges to it all the waste and trash in the can comes out easily unlike a square or a semi circle trash can where the trash may remain stuck to the edges and difficult to come out. A little tug to what’s left behind and all the trash will come out without any hassles.

An outdoor round trash can is a great utility. Be it in restaurants, outdoor malls, ballparks, resorts, movie theatres and many other public places, an outdoor trash can is an indispensable unit anywhere. Trash cans come in a variety of shapes, sizes and materials. However, a round trash can is better suited and better to use than trash cans of any other shape.

The main purpose of a trash can is that it is helpful in collecting and accumulating trash. Trash cans today are available in a number of shapes, sizes, material colour etc. They are available in round, square, semi round, in steel, wood, plastic etc. Most important of all these is the shape of the trash can. However, the trash can that you choose depends on your need.

The properties that one seeks in a trash is this that it accumulates in it a maximum amount of waste be it of any kind; it is one where you do not have to touch the actual waste; it is easier to empty and clean and one that does not require too much of maintenance.

A round trash receptacle can serves all of the above mentioned purposes and offer many benefits to your facility.

Outdoor Furniture Benches

Many different businesses can implement outdoor furniture benches that fill many different functions. Whether outdoor furniture benches are used for strictly decorative uses or used in high traffic commercial areas, wrought iron benches can fill the bill and maximize your investment.

Examples of different types of businesses can use outdoor furniture benches include:

Country Clubs – use this type of seating to create decorative seating areas around the clubhouse as well as higher traffic areas such as the driving range or just outside the golf shop

Strip Centers – afford the patrons outdoor seating in between the shops so they can rejuvenate and keep on shopping

Medical Plazas – depending on the interior theme of the building, wrought iron benches can be used on the inside of some commercial buildings

Resort – use these outdoor benches much like country clubs in various forms. Sometimes they can be decorative and added to a garden or even used indoors to create seating down a long convention hall

Grocery Stores – benches usually are used next to the grocery store front doors in conjunction with an outdoor trash can especially if the store is anchoring a village center

Car Dealerships - for sales staff as well as customers. The longer the customers are on the lot the better chance that you have to get a sale of a vehicle.

Chain Restaurant – typically used for waiting areas for seating during busy or high volume times during lunch or dinner

Daycare – parents, pre-school teachers, teacher aides, nurses as well as the kids themselves need a place to rest during their play time or recess time.

Airports – creates outdoor seating for pilots, flight attendants, luggage handlers, food employees as well as gate safety crews as they go to and from. These can also be implemented to create smoking areas

As you can see, the number of business that can use outdoor furniture benches is endless. They can work for you as well.

Wine Refrigerators To Keep The Best Taste Of Wine

Drinking wine has become very popular. As a matter of fact, it is easier to learn about various wines through local vendors or the internet than ever before. Wine refrigerators are large and small are being used in restaurants, country clubs, resorts and even homes.

Wine refrigerators are available in varying sizes. Its capacity also varies along with its size. Refrigerators with varying shapes also comes into market, which can be kept at many places as per your convenience, such as at top of the table, underneath a table, underneath a counter, bed-side etc. There are larger models also available which can manage to have a larger number of bottles at same time. These types of models are suitable at clubs, hotels, restaurant and party halls etc. Depending on its size, it can hold from 20 up to 60 bottles at a time. Locks for security, height-adjustable-slide-out-shelves and digitalized temperature controls are some of the additional features available in market now a days.

When considering a separate and dedicated storage and cooling space for wine, the best recommended way is to have a
wine refrigerator. By using such a unit, you can also be sure about the taste of the wine be superior every time you have it. While using a wine refrigerator, keeping the temperature a bit low than the desired temperature will give a good taste to the wines. A separate space like this will also make sure that odor of other food items are not combined or mingled with that of wines.

In a
wine refrigerator, the bottle should always be kept upside down so that its cork does not get dried and shrunk after a given point of time, which allows air inside the bottle. There are some models with multi cabinet facilitated in setting different temperature in each of them. In these models, apart from the chilling cabinet, some of them have a storage space. Before you drink or when you plan to drink, you can change one for the bottle from chilling cabinet to this storage cabinet where you can set a little more warmth, which will give you a better taste.

Kegerator For A Snack Bar Or Concession Stand

I am looking to add some new bar equipment to our concession stand. We have been doing quite a bit of research in kegerators. We would like to begin to offer beer at our locations. Now the one question comes into mind is how long does the beer in a keg stay fresh?

Well, if your kegerator lines are cleaned and if your unit is working properly then you can keep a beer staying fresh up to 6 months. But the very important thing is the selection of kegerator.

When you are looking to implement a beer dispenser at your golf course snack bar or concession stand you should need to know what type of kegerator you want. Some are tall and some are half height but it depends on you. If you want to store 4 or more type of beers at once then you should go for half height because of its size. Once you have decided upon the size and style that you want for your home bar draft system installation, start searching for the unit you want to either buy or convert to draft dispensation.

You should always clean the unit on a timely basis. There are many cleaning kits in the market that you can choose from that will get the job done. Kegging beer is not a difficult task but you need to know the process from any expert one at the initial stage. If you are having trouble with your beer keg refrigerator, do not panic. Regular cleaning of your beer lines is essential to keeping your beer keg refrigerator in top shape, but there is always a chance that you have a damaged O-ring somewhere along the line. This is easy to fix. It may be that you merely need to adjust your CO2 gas settings. There are many brands in the market but the brand selection is completely up to you. But you should go for the reputed brand name because they don’t want to lose their brand value.

Patio Furniture Chairs Can Update Your Facility

Many clubs are looking for ways to retain the members that they have let alone trying to gain new members in this economy. Updating your patio furniture chairs can make a statement without breaking the bank as you are looking to instill in your membership that they are getting a great value and experience for their money.

Durability:
Before you decide upon the material for your patio furniture chairs find out about their durability. Expensive wooden and wrought iron furniture last a long time with some extra care. You can even change the entire look of your iron furniture by simply changing the cushions. In commercial establishments like hotels, resorts, golf and country clubs, the stackable patio furniture chairs may need to be moved a lot for various functions. Plastic, aluminum and wicker furniture are lighter and easy to move around. However, they are not useful in windy spots. Wooden, wicker and iron furniture give an elegant look and add style to the furniture settings. Plastic furniture though cheap is not very durable and loses its looks in a couple of years.

The Look
Before choosing your patio furniture chairs think about the look you want for your outdoors. Each of the materials, look and feel different. Wooden furniture looks completely natural in outdoor settings. Even the different kinds of woods give a different look. Similarly wrought iron furniture gives a very graceful look and is found in multiple finishes and colors. The wicker chairs have a very warm and cozy feel to them. Aluminum furniture is also an option and also comes in various colors and finishes. In case you already have some patio furniture chairs, choose the new chairs to match with them.

If you already use wrought iron outdoor chairs, you can give them a new look and feel by simply changing the covers on them. This would again show your membership that you are upgrading the facilities while you will not be breaking the bank.

Snack Bar

Since you have a lot of experience with different snack bars, can you give me your top two places to make our concession stand more efficient and more profitable?

Well without knowing whether you are already open or not, here are two places that almost every snack bar can improve their operation.

Staffing Plans
This is another area where so many snack bars miss the boat. It is really this simple: what needs to be prepped and when are the busier parts of the day? Fill in your schedule around these two factors. Just this weekend I was at a 27-hole golf course that was packed and closing their snack bar at 3:30pm with people literally standing a the window! Can you say throwing money away?

Of course the opposite end of the spectrum is having more employees than customers. I do understand that it is a fine line and difficult to balance. With that being said, in today's job market people are looking to work all different types of hours and if you need to make shifts shorter then you need to make shifts shorter. Remember, labor will be one of if not your largest cost year end and year out and it is up to you to properly manage it.

Concession Equipment
Before purchasing the equipment for your snack bar, you will need to have an idea of the menu that you are going to offer, the amount of space that you do have as well as the overall budget for the equipment that you will need to purchase.

If you are already in operation, do you have anything that you do not use often? Another thing that I see a lot is one machine to make one item that hardly ever sells. You need to lose that piece of equipment to create more space for something that will sell and turn you a profit. In addition, ask your employees what they need. Your employees are doing it every single day so you may be missing something that will make your business more efficient.

Deep Fryer

As we all are trying to make our clubs more energy efficient and reduce our cost all at the same time, here are five tips to do just that from the VGS article How To Make Money With A Deep Fryer:

1. Energy Star
Making the move to purchasing an Energy Star commercial deep fryer will not only help the environment but it will also help you bottom line in the long run. The Energy Star rating that have been given to these units have a minimum cooking efficiency of 50% for gas and 80% for electric. In turn, this means that you can save up to $600 a year on utility bills.

2. Recovery time
As you compare various commercial deep fryers, you will want to also compare recovery times of the units. With a slower recovery period, you may be sacrificing performance for energy efficiency. This can also hinge on how busy your snack bar, concession stand or restaurant is throughout the day. Typically, electric fryers will recover faster than gas fryers.

3. Automatic energy-saving mode
As you are looking to purchase a commercial deep fryer for your snack bar, concession stand or restaurant, a unit that offers improved electronic controls will be able to fryer into idle mode after a specific period of inactivity. Especially in a busy commercial kitchen, this will save on your overall energy cost.

4. Data technology
Yes, believe it or not technology is even implemented into your commercial deep fryer. You can now monitor the performance of your unit by connecting it to your computer. You will be able to pinpoint any problems much faster and confront it before you have a big energy or money loss. With some models you can even change cooking temperatures from one monitoring location.

5. Insulation
The amount of insulation around the fry pot of the deep fryer is what is important. With an insufficient amount of insulation, the losses could be as high as 25%. Insulation is not available for all models. In addition, it may have some extra upfront cost. However the savings in the long run will outweigh the initial cost.

A High School Concession Stand and Their Commercial Deep Fryer

I have just started working at the high school concessional stand and I have a few questions about our commercial deep fryer for you. What type of oil should I be using in the commercial deep fryer, how long does it last and how often do I need to change it?

There are two main food items that are typically used in commercial deep fryers—oil and shortening. The stable oils used in most fryers can last up to 100 hours, meaning that you don't have to change the oil each and every day after use, like you might with a home fryer. In fact, depending on how many batches you do each day in your commercial deep fryer, you may go through all the oil and actually have to add more to it.

Shortening comes in tubs or bricks and quickly melts down to a liquid for frying purposes. Using shortening in commercial deep fryers used to be very popular because once the shortening melts down, it can last from 200 to 300 hours—2-3x as long as oil. This means you get just as many batches out of it without it having to be changed as often. Shortening is not used as much now, however, because it is so high in fat and calories. Now, most restaurants opt for healthier fry oils like vegetable, canola, and the like. Which type you would use in your commercial fryer would depend on what you are frying and if you are trying to save fat and calories or not.

Typically, if you do 50 large batches of food, such as fries in a commercial deep fryer, you would be short four pounds of oil. This is because some of the oil from the fryer does absorb into the food, even if you drain it. Let's say you started your day with a fryer that holds 20 gallons. After fifty batches, 1/5th of your oil would be gone and need to be replaced.

Standards Of Sandwich Prep Tables

I am going to be looking for a sandwich prep table for my facility. Can you discuss some of the important basics of these types of prep tables?

Sandwich Prep Table – Size
The size of a sandwich table will typically vary between 27” in width to 72” in width. It is important to understand your needs at high and low traffic times as well as the space that you will have available in order to properly make the decision on which unit will best suit your needs.

Sandwich Prep Table – Construction
Although you can find them made of various materials, most units are made of steel. You will find that the exterior construction includes heavy-duty stainless steel finish on the front of the unit, the sides of the unit, the top of the sandwich prep unit as well as the door(s). In addition, the unit will have a removable hood and insulated lid.

Typically the bottom of the unit and the rear of the unit are made of galvanized steel. The interior food liner is made of anodized aluminum for superior resistance to corrosion and prevents food spillage from entering the cabinet interior.

You will need to pay attention to the casters of the unit as some manufacturers include them with certain units and not with other units. In addition, you will need to make sure the depth of the cutting board will fit your needs. The depth of the cutting board will vary by manufacturer.

Sandwich Prep Table – Refrigeration systems
Most refrigeration systems use airflow to ensure that product in open containers is kept below 41°F and above freezing. Using an airflow type of design provides better airflow management and uniform temperature distribution throughout the cabinet. This translates into increased product shelf life, higher quality food, better food appearance, fresher product and a reduction of bacteria build-up to combat food-borne illnesses.

Sandwich Prep Table – Doors
Options available also include self-closing doors with 120° stay open feature. Doors on these units may also have the ability to be field reversible to accommodate any needs that you may have. In addition, some of the units offer the flexibility to convert a unit with doors to a unit with drawers.

How To Maximize Concession Stand or Snack Bar Revenues

I am looking for ways to maximize my concession stand or snack bar revenues. Do you have any ideas that I can implement at a country club with a driving range?

If you are space challenged and are looking for the least amount of headaches possible then a vending machine would be the answer for you. Vending machines do not require any permits and you can set them up in a number of different ways limiting the initial cash out of your pocket.

The easiest way is to have the company provide the machine and the product and you get a commission off what is sold. There are also options where you can buy the machine and have the company place the product.” The benefit of vending machines, he adds, is that they don’t require permits, much space or a lot of maintenance.

The next step would be to move up to providing fountain drinks. This will need more space as well as drainage. In addition, you are going to have to be able to get water to the fountain. This could require some construction costs and there will be permits involved. However in the long run it will be worth it.

Once you have installed the fountain, the transition to a candy rack and grab-and-go foods is very easy. In addition to the potato chips and energy bars, the suppliers are offering some very good prepackaged sandwiches and hamburgers that you just heat in a microwave. These products really have a good quality now and there is no major kitchen equipment required.

To help maximize food revenues, golf courses and driving ranges can serve golfers outdoors rather than waiting for them to come inside and eat by purchasing a grill. People enjoy hitting range balls during their lunch hour. With the purchase of an outdoor grill to place near your range you can sell the smell of lunch. You can then come up with different lunch specials including the food and range balls. Prior to purchasing the grill, check with local officials about any permitting that may need to be completed first. Permitting varies across the country.

Electric Deep Fryer

Electric deep fryers are just as effective at frying your food as a gas commercial fryer, but use electricity instead. An electric deep fryer will use coils like those found on an electric range in your kitchen to heat the oil from inside the oil tank. These coils heat very quickly and so can have your oil ready for cooking in just a matter of minutes, depending on how much oil you need. Electric deep fryers make delicious deep fried foods fast and easy. The most efficient home models fry up to six big servings with using just the minimal amount of oil. They can maintain the perfect frying temperature automatically and should come with handy scoop lifts, drains, stirs, and a "no mess" basket to place your finished product.

Since electricity is usually cheaper and cleaner environmentally than gas, electric fryers are generally cheaper to maintain. No gas line is needed either, just somewhere to plug the machine in, along with an adapter since the plug is usually a large commercial or three-pronged plug. Many of the newer, more efficient commercial fryer models are electric fryers.

Whether for your home or for your business, electric deep fryers assist you in diversifying your menu. The deep fryer seals in the taste of all of your (and your customer's) favorite foods such as; chicken, seafood, vegetables, and much more. Most importantly, with electric deep fryers, manufacturers keep your well-being in mind and reduce the risk of accidental fires which are associated with deep fryers by including safety features. You too can keep deep frying safe by following a few key tips such as never leaving the fryer unattended and never overfill the fryer with oil. Once you enjoy your favorite meal with the assistance of an electric deep fryer, you'll wonder how you ever did without it!

Concession Equipment

If you intend to run your own concession stand, you have a lot of choices to make. First of all, you have to choose the size and type of your actual stand. It could be a large RV type trailer, it could also be in a building. The decision is completely your own!

Next you need to decide what kind of concession equipment you will need inside your concession stand. What is fun about that is that you get to decide what you would like to sell in your concession stand. When it comes to food selling choices for your concession, you can have fun with it! There are so many choices.

Of course there are the usual types of things you see such as, popcorn poppers. Something unique about concession stand popcorn poppers is that you can buy the ones that resemble movie theatre popcorn poppers. These units can give your concession stand a fun and inviting look, as well as providing a wonderful aroma.

Another usual piece of concession equipment are hot dog rollers. These units are heated and spin the hot dogs for multiple reasons. Though the spinning effect is for the purpose of heating the food, it will also get people’s attention. In addition to hot dogs, you may choose to sell hot, soft pretzels. Pretzels are a large crowd pleaser and the hot dog roller.

Another fun choice for your concession stand could be a cotton candy maker. Everyone loves to see those different colors of fluffy clouds. Those could also be used as an attraction for grabbing customer’s attention.

Whatever concession equipment that you may choose for your concession stand, make sure you make it professional yet inviting to your customers. You have to be professional for the sake of business. You also have to keep your concession stand professional for health inspections.

Improve Your Snack Bar Or Concession Stand Revenue

The goal of any business is to keep the customer in or at the store as long as possible. If you do not offer any food, you are almost encouraging people to go down the road to eat. If you have food and drinks and can keep customers there to eat through a snack bar or concession stand, then you just might get them to hit another bucket of balls or buy another drink. Obviously this will increase your gross sales and should add money to your bottom line.

If you are space challenged and do not have room for a snack bar or concession stand then a vending machine would be the answer for you. Vending machines do not require any permits and you can set them up in a number of different ways limiting the initial cash out of your pocket.
