Golf Carts
Golf cars or golf carts were created as an amenity to allow more people to play the game of golf longer. In recent years, the uses of a golf cart has driven right off of the golf courses across the country and are now found in many everyday businesses as well as personal garages. Currently golf carts are used for playing golf as well as at campgrounds, parks, zoos, shopping malls, hospitals, stadiums, schools and colleges. With the higher gas prices, golf carts are also being purchased for personal use as an efficient way to get around a neighborhood.
The manufactures have created a new category in result of the surge of the many different uses of the golf cart and call the category a utility cart. Most of the utility vehicles come as a golf cart base with and different back end that would include a bed for hauling tools or product. In other instances utility vehicles are built from the ground up using the golf cart concept as a starting point to serve as heavy-duty material handling vehicles. These are many of the vehicles you will see the maintenance crew using on the golf course. In addition, these types of utility vehicles are used at RV parks, flea markets, arenas, ranches, farms and warehouses.
Golf Carts can also come with an attachment on the back of the unit to create a beverage cart or a mobile snack bar or concession stand. This allows golf courses, country clubs and resorts another revenue source and provides another amenity to their members and guests by selling cigars, sandwiches, snacks, candy bars, beer, water and sodas.
Passenger golf carts are also just as they sound. These golf carts have additional seating and are used by apartment complexes, race tracks, airports, car dealerships, hotels, motels and resorts.
As mentioned earlier many people are purchasing personal golf carts to use in their everyday life to go to the grocery store or to the post office. They like these street legal golf carts because they are able to create their very own custom golf carts that fit their lifestyle and can show their personality.
All of the above mentioned carts are available in electric as well as gas powered. Obviously there are advantages and disadvantages to using a gas golf cart as opposed to an electric golf cart. For example, the electric carts due to using batteries are much quieter than the gas engines and overall tend to require less maintenance as well. In turn, the gas powered vehicles will do better in a hilly terrain as as long as there in gas in the tank it will go as opposed to the terrain wearing out the battery charge quickly on an electric model.
As you can see there are different types of golf carts and they have a wide variety of uses. These vehicles are used in a wide variety of businesses and many that you would never think that they would be.
