Golf Bags

Golf bags have many different golf bag types and are considered a piece of golf equipment that you cannot play without since you will be using it to carry all of your golf clubs, golf balls and other necessities for your round of golf. Typically your golf bag will not affect the score that you will shoot although it could if you are walking and you have an uncomfortable or awkward bag that tires you out quicker than normal.

In choosing the best golf bag for you, you need to determine how you are going to play the majority of the rounds of golf that you play. If you ride in an electric or gas golf cart while you play then you can choose any of the three available types of golf bags. However if you walk, you will want a carry bag or what is also known as a stand bag.

With this being said, there are essentially three kinds of golf bags. The staff bag or the tour bag, the golf stand bag or carry bag and the cart golf bag make up the three categories.

Stand Bags or Carry Bags 

If smaller bags appeal to you and you are thinking of carrying your own bag, you will want to purchase a golf stand bag or a golf carry bag. Though they may vary in different forms and sizes, they are rather smaller than the other golf bags. They are designed purposely to make room for the basic golf equipment such as golf clubs, other small accessories and golf balls. The majority of  golf stand bags are made of plastic, nylon and other lighter materials. There are golf stand carry bags that have added features that may expand the ease of use for instance a rain hood. In addition, many of the golf stand bags are equipped with single or double straps to make carrying the bag easier. Ladies stand bags are typically unisex unless a color combination makes the difference.   

Cart Golf Bag

These bags would be the middle size of the three available golf bags and are relatively smaller than the tour bags. However, using this kind of golf bag is much heavier than a carry bag and you will need to use a golf push cart or a riding golf cart during your round of golf. As the name suggests, cart bags are designed exactly to be used by golf carts. These bags are typically made of leather or nylon and have an ample number of pockets to store everything that you would use during a round of golf including your rain gear. Ladies cart bags are also available in a variety of colors.

Staff Bag or Tour Bags 

The largest of the golf bags is staff or the tour bags. They are readily equipped with enough storage space for 14 standard golf clubs and have enough room for other golf equipment that you would need. Many golfers would think that this type of bag has too much room as they still need to be able to lift the golf staff bag in and out of the trunk of the car. Most professional golfers use this type of a golf bag. Keep in mind that the professionals always have a caddy doing the work for them! The best staff bag is typically made of leather and is also usually the highest priced.

Ladies Golf Stand Bags

Many ladies stand bags are unisex meaning that they are made for a golfer and the only thing that really makes it a ladies stand bag or a ladies carry bag are the color scheme of the bag. Many ladies look for pink golf bags and bags of softer colors. These light weight carry bags are all made with the same materials and are not inferior in any way to the navy or black stand bags.

Ladies Golf Cart Bags

Again, ladies golf cart bags are usually determined by color. A ladies golf cart bag is made just as well as any other bag. A ladies cart golf bag gives you plenty of room for all of your clubs (and head covers), golf accessories, golf umbrella. Depending on the manufacturer and the model, the number of pockets will vary. In addition,  some even have a cooler built into ladies golf bags! This type of bag is perfect for the gal who is a member of a country club and always uses a riding golf cart to play the game. Even though some are made with high tech materials, you will still let the golf staff handle your bag as they are still fairly heavy with all of your equipment inside. 

Junior Golf Bag

There are junior golf bags made for younger players to fit their sets. However, once your junior is in their teens, they will more than likely be big and strong enough to carry a light weight stand bag during their round of golf.
