Golf Carry Bag

I want to buy a golf carry bag. I figure the extra exercise that I will gain while I play can only help my health as I was recently diagnosed with Type II Diabetes. I am trying to tell my wife that the Doctor is prescribing that I play more golf (if I walk) to improve my blood sugar. I do not know how well that is going over! Haha I also have a bad back and want to grab some information about available golf carry bags?

Sounds like you are wearing out! Haha Being close to those with Type II, the walking will definitely help you keep it in check.

No matter how strong your back currently is the excessive bending over to pick up your regular golf bag will wear on your back. Golf carry bags with stands are an invaluable convenience since you will be able to place your golf stand carry bag on the ground and then grab the golf club you need or replace the chosen golf club without the strain on your back. Golf stand carry bags may allow you to play a full round, if you are a player who has trouble with a bad back.

In addition, the stands on the golf carry bags can be adjusted to make carrying the bag as comfortable as possible during your round. Now most all of the manufactures will offer a dual strap system. This strap system will be put on over each shoulder. The dual strap system allows you to carry the bag in proper balance which makes it easier to carry as well as prevent injuries. Some systems have special strap materials which allow the straps to smoothly slide off your shoulders. In addition, quick and simple adjustments can be performed while the bag is still being carried.

Stand Golf Bag

I am trying to make up my mind on a golf bag. Can you give me some of the benefits of a stand golf bag?

We would be happy to do it! Obviously if you are going to walk any rounds of golf at all a stand golf bag makes much more sense than a heavy cat bag to lug around. If you do ride you can use your stand golf bag on the back of a golf cart without any problem. Here are some other reasons to purchase a golf stand bag:

1. You can personalize your stand golf bag in other ways such as how many pockets the bag has. As we are all different, we all want and need different things from our golf bags and the amount of storage that they provide. Some players may need to have a lined valuables pocket as a part of their bag while others will think that a pocket for their water bottle is more important to them.
2. Since you are looking for a stand golf bag, we are assuming that weight is a concern for you and your new bag as you may be looking to walk some if not all of the rounds of golf that you play. Most manufactures make bags that weigh less than four pounds without any golf equipment in them. Again, this will be different for everybody as the fewer features that you demand the lighter the golf bag can be.
3. The stand golf bag that you purchase should also include a rain hood. Although we all think that we will not play in the rain, eventually we will get caught on the course in a rain. We may just be trying to get back to the club house or we could be trying to finish a round in a tournament but either way we need protection for our clubs so that they can stay dry.

Finding Golf Bags To Fit You

As spring has sprung over most of the US, still get a lot of questions about golf bags from new golfers. Whether you are a new golfer or not, by answering the few questions below you should be able to better find the best golf bags that can take of your needs.

What's your budget?
Depending on what you are looking for and how you play the game you can spend about whatever you would like. For example if you are looking for a simple Sunday bag with one strap and no stand so you can walk and get some exercise as you play the game, you can spend as little as $30. If you are looking for a large cart bag or staff bag, depending on it features, it could cost hundreds of dollars.

Walk Or Ride?
This is simple. If you walk any rounds at all you will want a stand bag or a carry bag. These bags can be placed on golf carts if you go and play a facility the does not allow walking. These are the most flexible golf bags. If you belong to or regularly play a facility that does not allow walking then you may opt for the room that is available in a cart bag or staff bag.

Does It Have All Of The Features I Need?
Not to sound like mom and dad but… what you need and what you want can be two different things. This is especially true when you add in the budget part of the equation. You will want to make sure that the bag has enough pockets to store what you usually take when you play. This should not be a problem as it seems like today the manufactures are placing pockets inside of pockets there are so many.

Do You Like It?
This may sound like a funny question to you. However, if you do not like it you will not want to use it. Plain and simple.

Choices Of Golf Bags

I am looking interested in learning more about golf bags. Can you tell me about the different types of golf bags that are available?

There are essentially three kinds of golf bags. The Hybrid golf bag, the stand bag or carry bag and the cart golf bag make up the three categories.

Cart Bag
The cart bag is the largest selection of golf bags which is available. These bags are larger than a stand or carry bag. The average cart bag will house enough space for 14 golf clubs and other equipment which may be required during a game. A lot of older golfers tend to use these sorts of golf bags, but they do not carry them due to the weight. These players depend on the staff of the club to load their golf bag onto a golf cart. The amount of equipment that these golfers can carry is as much as they would like. In order to suit the tastes of their end-users such golf bags may come made in leather and other sorts of expensive material.

Stand Bag
Not only is a stand bag much lighter than a cart bag, but it also has ample pockets to carry all other golf equipment that you may need such as golf balls, golf tees and even a rain suit. If you do only carry a few clubs, you may want to look into a Sunday bag. This bag is as plain as they come and will typically have one pocket that can hold a few tees and extra balls.

Depending on which model fits your needs, you can purchase a golf stand bag that has pockets inside of pockets. Space to carry anything that you need is available. Many stand bags include an insulated water bottle pocket built right into the bag. These pockets will typically fit a regular water bottle or gatorade sized bottle and can help keep it cold on those hot summer days. If you purchase a stand bag with a water bottle pocket you will want to make sure that it does have a place for the condensation to leave the bag. If it is allowed to accumulate, the excess water can damage your golf bag and be just plain nasty.

Hybrid Golf Bag
A hybrid golf bag is very versatile in that you can use it as a carry bag or a golf cart bag. These golf bags come in every color of the rainbow and can make you look great on the golf course even if you do not play great.

Stand Bag

I am looking at joining a linkup2golf group this year. I am very excited about learning the game and buying a new stand bag. Learning golf is something that I have always wanted to do but have not been able to as I have been raising my children. Can you give me some information on a stand bag before I purchase one?

We would be happy to answer anything to get you started in the game of golf!

As you will be in the market to purchase a golf bag, to get started we would suggest looking at a stand bag. A stand golf bag will give you the most versatility out of what is available. Stand bags are also known as carry bags and is sometimes referred to as a Sunday bag. It is versatile as you can use it to walk the golf course or you can strap it to a golf cart and using it as a cart golf bag.

A stand bag can offer just as many features as any other type of golf bag. Depending on which manufacturer makes the bag, the carry bag can have up to nine pockets. This really more pockets than you will ever need because if you fill all of them the stand golf bag would be too heavy to carry anyway! haha You will have pockets for your golf balls, tees and ball makers. Depending on the model, you can even have a pocket for your cell phone or a water bottle.

One hint that we would give you is to try on the stand golf bag before you buy one. Even if you are going to buy online, go to a local golf shop and try on the bag with a full set of clubs in the bag. Adjust the straps as you would if it was your bag and you were walking the golf course. Make sure it is comfortable for you and like trying on a pair of shoes, walk around with it on your back.

Ladies Golf Bag Options

I am looking for a new ladies golf bag as I just started playing golf. As I go shopping for a women's golf bag, what information should I have before begin my quest?

This is a great question that most golfers do not even think about before they purchase a golf bag. There are some questions that you can ask before you go shopping to make sure you buy the purchase the best golf bag for you.

The first thing you need to figure out is very simple. If you ever walk while you play golf, you will want a stand bag. If you enjoy the game while riding and you know that you will not be walking, then you will be able to buy either a stand bag or a cart bag.

What are the features that you need and what are the features that you want in your golf bag. Of course you have other equipment to carry other than your clubs. Everyone carries different things that can include sunscreen, golf gps unit, snacks or even medicine.

Either a stand bag or a cart bag can vary in price. You will want o have an idea of what you want to spend going in. Obviously this will be up to you and your current situation.

Ladies golf bags come in every color of the rainbow and many ladies use their bag as a fashion statement. With this being said, you may want to think about this one before you pull the trigger. There are a couple of different thoughts about this. Some go ahead and buy a golf bag with many colors. Their thought is that what they wear will pull one of the colors out. Others go the opposite way and buy a neutral colored bag for the opposite reasons.

Beginner Golf Bag

I love playing the game of golf and was hooked on the game right at the end of the last season. I have bought a beginner golf bag and now am wondering other than my golf clubs, balls and tees what should be in my new golf bag?

We are glad that you have taken up the game! This is a good question that many new players are scared to ask as they feel like they should already know the answer. Here are our suggestions to put in your beginner golf bag:

Sunscreen
Face it, no matter what part of the country that you live in, you must protect yourself against the harmful rays of the sun. Even on days that to you are "not that hot." The damaging rays are still getting to your skin. I have seen fair-skinned people turn red on a cloudy day! Check with your doctor on how strong of a SPF you need to protect yourself. Sunscreen now comes in many different forms now to make it easy to carry with you in your beginner golf bag and to apply during your round of golf.

Golf Hat
Your golf hat will work in conjunction with your sunscreen to protect your skin against damage from the sun. In addition, a golf hat will keep the sweat out of your eyes on the brutally hot days. Ladies a golf hat will also allow you to keep your hair out of your face whether the wind is blowing or not.

Golf Gloves
These is an easy and cheap way to make your golf gloves last longer. Keeping your golf gloves in a baggie in your beginner golf bag will keep them all in one place and with the baggie sealed your golf gloves will last longer.

Golf Training Aids
This is obviously easier to do if you are riding in a golf cart and have a cart bag or a staff bag. It also depends on the golf training aids that you are using. For example, if you are using an extra shaft to work on your turn, the weight will not bother you even if you are walking and carrying your bag. Conversely, some of the putting training aids get vary bulky and would be difficult to fit into a golf bag.

Golf Bag Push Cart

I would like to keep walking my golf course to stay in shape but my stand bag is getting too heavy for me to do this any longer. Would it make sense to place a stand bag on a golf bag push cart? What are some of the benefits of these golf push carts as well?

Placing a golf stand bag on golf push carts is not a problem at all. The main goal is that you are able to get out and enjoy the golf course and more importantly keep your health. You will just want to take one of the straps of the cart and run it through one of the handles just in case something happens they will stay attached.

As many Americans are looking to lose weight and improve their overall health, many are turning to golf and golf fitness. Since the golf bag push cart has entered the scene, how the game of golf is played at the club level has drastically changed over the last decade.

With a golf bag push cart many players that are getting older or are not as strong as they once were can still enjoy walking the fairways of their golf course. They do not have the extra weight of the stand bag to wear them out. In addition, most of the current golf bag push carts have adjustable handles. This allows you to change the position of your hands as you push the cart and make it ergonomic for you alleviating strain on your back and in your shoulders.

Today, you can find many accessories to personalize your golf bag push cart. Manufacturers not only offer these units in various colors, depending on which unit that you are looking at it can also include grass-seed holders, umbrella holders, drink holders and special places for valuables and apparel and paraphernalia.

Hope this helps and we will see you walking on the course!!!

Hybrid Golf Bag

What is a hybrid golf bag? I am looking for a new bag this year and have heard about a hybrid golf bag and want to understand more about them. Are they light enough to carry and durable enough to use on the back of a golf cart?

Thanks for your question and this is kind of a new category to the golf bags market so your question is very welcomed.

Here is part of the hybrid golf bag article that you can find at VGS Golf or http://www.virtualgolfswing.com/.

The hybrid golf bag is made light enough that you can use it as a golf carry bag. Some of these bags even come with legs which will allow you to use it as a stand bag as well. Not only does it create less wear and tear on your bag, it also creates less wear and tear on your body form bending it over and picking it up after every single shot.

Many golfers think a hybrid golf bag is too small to use on golf push carts or riding golf carts and this is simply not true. These bag are big enough, very durable and can easily be strapped to either and you are ready to play golf. Just make sure that the strap runs through the handle on the bag before securing it and you will not have any problems at all.

Just because you are contemplating a hybrid golf bag do not think that you will need to sacrifice the number of pockets or storage space that these bags offer. If you have played golf at all, you know that there is no thing as too many pockets. Manufacturers have started to get very creative and as a result you can have a water bottle pocket built right into your golf bag. These pockets are made of newer materials that will help keep your drink cool.

Izzo Stand Bag

Depending on which Izzo stand bag you are looking to purchase, all of the available golf bags weigh less than five pounds. These lightweight stand bags allow you to enjoy the game as it was meant to be played, walking. Many players use these bags so they can implement the walking into their golf fitness routine.

An Izzo stand bag can be used as a golf cart bag. Although they are light weight, when you throw it in the back of a golf cart, it has plenty of room and an organizational top. This makes it easy to quickly pull the club that you want to use without any fuss.

With the number of pockets on an Izzo stand bag, you will have plenty of room to take everything that you need during your round of golf. You can play in any weather condition as you have plenty of room to carry your rain gear in the full-length apparel pocket. Obviously, there are plenty of pockets to carry the usual golf accessories such as golf balls, tees, divot repair tools and others. An Izzo stand bag has an easy to access umbrella holder and comes with a rain hood. In addition, The Scout stand bag and The GEO stand bag both have a pocket for a water bottle.

The flip side to all of this is that if you decide to walk a golf course it is easy to do with and Izzo stand bag. The dual strap will equally distribute the overall weight on your shoulders and take the stress off of your back. In addition, the dual straps contain Ionetix.

You can pair the Izzo Swami Golf GPS unit with The Izzo Scout stand bag. This golf bag has a pocket that is specifically made to hold a golf gps range finder (also fits some other golf GPS units). You will never have to guess how far you are again as your yardage finder will be easy to access from your Izzo stand bag.

Carry Golf Bag

I am looking for information about golf bags. What is the difference between a carry golf bag and a golf cart bag? In addition, as I look to purchase a new golf bag are there big differences in the weight of the bags and are there any little tricks that I should know.

First, there are two types of golf bags, carry golf bags and cart bags. Carry golf bags are bags that are used when you are planning to have a lot of walking on the golf course. Cart golf bags are those that you use when walking is not possible (as some golf courses prohibit walking), and riding a golf cart is your option.

As a beginner golfer, most players will purchase a walking bag. If you become a serious player of the game, most likely you will eventually buy both types of golf bags.

If you are a newbie in the game, you might ask "What is a carry golf bag for? I only have four golf clubs." For you, a golf bag is functional piece of golf equipment although some also see it as a fashion statement. It is not just for your golf clubs, but it can also hold your other golf equipment and accessories such as golf balls and tees.

A carry golf bag can come with or as few bells and whistles as you would like. The price ranges will vary depending upon the bags features. Some of the newer and high tech golf bags even have pocket coolers that can keep your drink ice-cold even for hours!

If there is a trick to buying a golf stand carry bag, it would definitely be to find a comfortable one. Most golfers do not check the straps to see if it fits comfortably with a full set of golf clubs in it. With the extra weight does it still feel comfortable and not rub you anywhere? Keep in mind that your carry golf bag will be one of your trusted companions walking the many long fairways and you will spend hours with it over your shoulders. So take your time and choose wisely.

Stand Bag

I have always ridden in a golf cart when I play golf. I am looking at buying a stand bag because I want to get some extra exercise and try to lose some weight. Can you give me some information on stand bags? I am worried that I will not have as much room in a stand bag as I need.

Well my first comment is this – If you have to carry it for four hours it is amazing what you can do without! haha

With this being said, the whole process of carrying your clubs has become simple and fun. Now we are starting to see more women, juniors, and senior players carrying their bags around the course. You can easily slide your clubs off your shoulders into the standing upright position in one smooth motion. The strength of the lightweight golf bag materials is 10 times better than before incorporating breathe-ability and weather resistance into every construction.

Make sure that your new golf bag has a rain hood included and that you know how it attaches. Although it sounds simple, a rain hood is something that you never think about until you really need it and you do not want to have to figure out how to put it on while you are getting soaked.

Golf Stand Bags

We receive and welcome many questions about golf stand bags. VGS Golf wrote an article that breaks it down and gets you prepared to prior to your purchase to make the best selection for you. Here are a couple of questions about golf stand bags to get you started:

What is my price range for golf stand bags?
This may sound like a simple question but it is one that needs to be asked before looking at golf stand bags. Within reason, you will get what you pay for. This does not mean that the mid-priced stand bags are not as good as the most expensive golf bags. However, there is a big jump from the discount golf bags to the mid level bags.

How much are you going to play?
If you do not play much, you may want to go with a discount golf bag. Since you will not be using it as much, it will not need to be as durable over the long haul as for someone that plays multiple times in a week.

Other than golf clubs, how much equipment do you usually carry?
This would include a rain suit, umbrella, extra gloves, extra balls, hats, teaching aids, snacks and maybe even medicine. You need to keep in mind that every extra thing that you take will equate to extra weight that you will be carrying out on the golf course.

Does It Have All Of The Features I Need?
This is where the question of how many pockets and where they are located becomes important. You can now buy a ladies golf bag with up to nine pockets on it. Can you fit a jacket into the bag in case you get cold or it begins to rain? Do you need a pocket for a water bottle and do you really need it?

Personalized Golf Bag

There are many options when it comes to creating a personalized golf bag. If you can think of it, it seems that the look can be created. We are asked a lot about the different ways to personalize a golf bag. Here are just a few that we have come up with in our article "Personalized Golf Bag" at www.virtualgolfswing.com.

Collegiate Golf Bag
One way to create a personalized golf bag is to show your school spirit with your favorite college logo right on the side of the golf bag. You do not need to play on the golf team in order to use a college golf bag. College logo bags are not just limited to your choice college football team either. Collegiate golf bags offer fans a way to express their support to any college sport, including both basketball and baseball. If you are too busy on the golf course to watch your favorite team live, you can make a statement of your allegiance on your golf bag.

Ladies Golf Bag
With fashion being the strongest part of some players games, a common feature of ladies golf bags are to include a wide range of golfing accessories that match the golf bag itself. These include handbags, clothing, rainwear, umbrellas and even designer tees and balls. Owning a personalized golf bag is not as expensive as it was just a few years ago as players are now personalizing their bags purely on color schemes to match outfits and shoes. Ladies are going further and even using different stones and silver buckles for example to make their own personalized golf bag.

Golf Travel Bags
You can even create a personalized golf bag out of your golf travel bag. Personalized travel bags are becoming more and more popular. You can use this if you are on a high school or college golf team or if you have a bunch of friends traveling together. Again, the possibilities are endless with colors and logos that are available to you.

Beginner Ladies Golf Bag

I am a new golfer and I am looking to buy a new golf bag. I really do not know what I should be looking for in a golf bag. Can you tell me the difference between a ladies cart bag vs a ladies carry bag? Is there anything else that I need to know before I make my purchase?

First you need to choose what type of bag you want and will suit all of your needs at the same time. There are mainly two types of bags which are carry bag and cart bag. A carry bag is the most basic and common type of golf bag. Its size ranges from 5 to 8.5 inches in diameter and mostly weighs as little as 3.5 pounds. This type of bag is used if your game requires a lot of walking around the golf course. A cart golf bag is often preferred by golfers when walking is not allowed (Note that some golf courses prohibit walking). Cart bags are specifically carried on a golf cart or a buggy. For beginner golfers, a walking bag is the preferred type.

Waterproof golf club bag is the ideal for the rainy season because it protects the inside material from rain. The most important thing to consider in buying your golf bag is its weight. Because the game requires you to walk most of the time, the weight of the bag can be a factor in your game performance, especially if you are already exhausted by its heavy weight even before teeing off. Opt for a lightweight golf bag that is sturdy enough to hold all your golf clubs and to protect them. Some bags often weigh less than 5 pounds. These are made of space-age materials such as graphite.

After all it is your ladies golf club bag and you have to carry it so try to buy the bags which are suitable for you. Do remember they do come in various styles and sizes to match your style of game and personality. They are made to match every individuals demand regardless of what your choice might be.

Ladies Golf Bags

I am a female and have been playing golf for the past couple of years. I am looking for a ladies golf bag and other golf equipment. I am getting frustrated as I am not finding a very large selection of ladies golf equipment. My question is are there any golf equipment companies that make only ladies golf equipment and more specifically ladies golf bags?

There are manufactures of ladies golf equipment that only create ladies golf equipment and ladies golf bags. Examples of such companies would be Nancy Lopez Golf and Golf Godess. Nancy Lopez Golf offers golf bags for ladies as well as golf equipment for ladies. The ladies irons can be ordered as a customized set of irons. Golf Godess creates customized ladies golf bags using silver buckles and beautiful stones.

When you think or plan about customizing your golf bag, especially ladies golf bags, you must be happy to learn that you will have flexibility in choosing any colors, which are even odd, to be applied on to your bags. Manufacturers or retailers also support imposing logos on the bags. In fact, majority of the customers do not like to stick with a standard model of products. They all want, like you, to do some kind of customization on the piece which they particularly are going to use. If you are a player who has got a team and teammates, you can have your team’s logo and color on the bags you plan to buy.

If you are a recreational player playing with your business colleagues most of the time, then you might prefer to have your company logo and its color pattern on your ladies golf bag. It will also help you and your colleagues to get extra publicity during your round and while you relax afterwards in the club's restaurants and bars.

Golf Bag Common Questions

We get very basic questions all of the time from golfers about very basic features of a golf bag. We thought we should throw in a little info on the basics of golf bags in a hope to answer some of your questions. We hope this help sbut as always if you have any other questions feel free to contact us.

No matter what type of golf bag you are buying, you need to make sure that it is comfortable. The truth is that even if you buy a cart bag you will be carrying it at some point. Make sure to fill it with golf clubs and properly adjust the straps. Then throw it on your back to make sure it is comfortable and does not rub you anywhere.

The quality of the golf bag you are looking at does matter. Simply, choosing the most inexpensive bag can cost you more in the long run. Many times these golf bags are not built with the same durability as the next price level up.

An important factor in choosing a golf bag is the number of pockets it has. The ladies will understand the next statement and guys you will just have to believe me, there is no such thing as too many pockets in a golf bag.

Of course, there is an apparel pocket. This is the long pocket down the side in which you can carry your rain hood as well as your rain gear. In the summertime in the south, you may also want to carry an extra towel or two as the humidity gets uncomfortable.

Other pockets on a golf bag would include a lined valuables pocket to keep your watch, wallet, etc. while you play. Some golf bags include an insulated water bottle pocket that fits many size cans and bottles so that you can stay hydrated during your round of golf. Then, there is the pocket used for keeping your extra golf balls, golf tees and a divot repair tool.

Ladies Golf Bag

I have recently taken up golf and have inherited my husband’s old bag. I want to buy a ladies golf bag. Do you have any suggestions on how I can start my shopping for a ladies golf bag?

There are a few questions that you need to answer to insure that you make the best purchase for yourself. If you have any questions after reading this feel free to contact us again.

You will need to determine whether a ladies cart bag or a ladies stand bag or carry bag is what you are in the market to purchase. This will usually be determined on your golfing habits of how you play the game. If you walk and carry your own bag then a cart bag is out of the question. If you typically ride, you will then have the option of purchasing either type of bag.

If you are purchasing a carry bag, you will want to “try it on.” That sounds fun, huh? When you do try the ladies stand bag, adjust the straps properly and make sure it has a set of clubs in it. This will give you a good feel of what it will be like once you on the golf course.

Even though you love the ladies golf bag, you need to make sure that it has enough pockets to carry everything that you take during a round of golf. These items are different for every golfer. Some golfers, you know who you are, cannot play a round of golf without carrying a cell phone so having a specific pocket for your phone is probably more important to you than it is to the rest of us.

Over the years I have seen golfers carry many crazy things that you would never think to carry. The majority of golfers do need room for an umbrella, rain suit, some extra balls, tees and maybe a snack or medication.

A New Golf Bag In My Future?

I am contemplating buying a new golf bag. The bag I currently use can probably make it another year but it has been quite a while since I have bought a bag. I am sure they are much improved now. What do I need to know about golf bag before I begin my search for a new golf bag?

Sounds like you may have some money burning a hoel in yoru pocket! HAHA Good for you. The info below should get you started in your search.

1. Type of BagThe choice of the final type of golf bag that you decide to buy really will be largely determined by how you play the game. If you walk while you enjoy the game then you will definitely want to but a golf stand bag. These bags are also referred to as a carry bag or a sunday bag.If you ride in a golf cart while you enjoy the game then you can purchase either a golf cart bag or a stand bag will work for you. Since you will not be lugging your bag around the course, your decision will be persuaded by the price of the bags and by just what you like.

2. MaterialAfter you have made the decision of whether you are going to purchase a stand bag or a cart bag, this decision might be made for you. What am I talking about? Well, if you are purchasing a stand bag, more than likely the bag will be made of nylon. By using nylon the manufacturer can make a good lightweight stand bag. In turn, the majority of all cart bags are made of leather. Leather is a much heavier material and therefore can be used on cart bag as the weigh is not an issue since you will not be carrying the bag.

3. PocketsAll bags come with a large pocket to keep a rain hood as well as your rain jacket and rain pants. These bags are designed with multiple pockets for golf accessories such as golf balls, tees, a permanent marker and ball markers. In addition, many companies have realized that many golfers want a pocket to keep a water bottle or Gatorade bottle as they play. They have served that need by including an insulated bottle pocket to help keep your drink nice and cool while you practice and play.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

A Stand Bag Or A Cart Bag?

I am looking to buy a new golf bag. What are the differences between a stand bag and a cart bag? And more importantly which one do I need?

1. The biggest question to answer is this: Do you plan to walk while you play golf or are you going to ride during your rounds of golf? This is an important question to have answered before purchasing a new golf bag. If you plan to do any walking at all, then you need to purchase a carry bag or what is also known as a stand bag. These golf bags are light enough to carry when you decide to walk and capable of being strapped to a golf cart.

2. Does the bag have enough pockets to carry all your gear? Again this will change from person to person. I know some players who take their golf clubs with a couple of golf balls to play their round of golf. Others look like they are taking a cross-country voyage and will be gone for three months. You need to decide how much you will need for things such as valuables, rain gear, golf accessories, etc.

3. How many club dividers are built in for club organization? Some of this comes down to personal preference as well as how big the golf bag is. If you are looking at a stand bag, then the more dividers that are added to the bag the heavier it will more than likely be. Many players, who use cart bags, like to have a full-length divider for each of their golf clubs. These dividers help protect each individual golf club. Obviously, doing this in a carry bag would add a lot of unwanted weight.

4. When carrying your golf bag, is it comfortable? Believe it or not this goes for golf stand bags as well as cart bags. Although you may not be carrying your cart bag very far, say from the parking lot, it is still important that you are comfortable doing it. Before you purchase your stand bag, try it on with a set of clubs in it. In addition adjust the straps as needed to make sure you will not have the golf bag rubbing you anywhere causing irritation to your skin.

5. Is there a rain hood or rain cover included with the purchase of the golf bag? This is like a AAA card. You do not ever think about it until you need it in an emergency. It is imperative that the new stand bag or the new cart bag that you purchase has a rain hood. Invariably, we always get caught at some point (usually as far away from the clubhouse as possible) in an unexpected drizzle. A rain hood allows you to keep your golf clubs dry in case it is a fast moving rain.

New Golf Bag, But Which One Is Right?

You first need to understand that there are two types of golf bags available for you to purchase. You will have the option of purchasing a carry bag or a cart bag. Here are a few of the differences:

Carry golf bags or stand bags are bags that are used when you are planning to walk the majority of your rounds of golf. These bags are lightweight and are very versatile. Many players will use a golf carry bag or golf stand bag when they do ride as they play during their round of golf. Cart golf bags are those that you use when walking is not possible (as some golf courses prohibit walking), and riding a golf cart is your option. In addition, some players who do not walk, like these bags because they tend to have more room available through multiple pockets.

When buying a carry golf bag, make sure that you are able to find a comfortable one. Make sure to check the straps to see if it fits comfortably and whether it can be carried easily with a set of golf clubs in it. Even if you are on a restricted budget, do not necessarily purchase the lowest priced golf bags. Comfort is very important in this instance as you will literally be strapped to the bag for many hours. An uncomfortable bag will not only make you miserable on the golf course but in addition the bag can be painful if it rubs you to the point it causes blisters.

A golf cart bag is typically made of heavier material such as leather. In addition, the top of the golf cart bag is usually larger and typically measures approximately nine inches. Due to the size and weight of the bag, it does not make sense to carry a cart bag during your round of golf. Most golfers are not in good enough shape to pull this off and still enjoy it.

Another important thing to consider when purchasing any type of golf bag is its weight. This is one of the most important things to know. A golf bag should be light enough to be carried or carted easily, but sturdy enough to hold your clubs and protect them. Some bags are even water resistant and are rain proofed for the protection of your clubs. Most of these bags have anywhere from five to nine dividers for your clubs as well as additional pockets.

New Golf Bags

I have just started playing golf and as spring is coming up, I would like to know more about golf bags. I need to buy one this spring but I am confused on all of the different types and sizes of the different golf bags. Can you pass along some general info on this topic?

You will be in the market for new stand golf bags or a carry golf bags if you intend to walk the golf course when you play. Many players do this for fitness purposes or because and some others do it for the enjoyment of feeling like one with nature. Stand bags or carry bags are lightweight so that they are easily carried and are often made of lightweight material such as nylon. These bags are typically the smallest in size. However, they have ample room for your entire set of golf clubs and accessories that you will need to enjoy your round of golf. These golf bags are referred to as stand bags because when it is time to put the bag down to play your shot you can use a specially designed stand to keep the bag off the ground and upright.

As it sounds, cart golf bags are designed to be placed on the back of an electric or gas golf cart or a three wheeled push cart. For the average golfer, a cart bag is simply too big and heavy to carry. Cart bags are typically made of heavier materials such as leather and are larger by construction. This makes them very difficult to carry for most golfers to carry for most amateurs. Some cart bags do not even provide a shoulder strap as they are expected to sit on the back of a golf cart. With that being said, many golf cart bags have a strap that will allow you to carry them. Hopefully, this will only be around the clubhouse!

You may also want to think about how much golf you are going to play when you are traveling and purchasing a golf travel bag. A travel golf bags provide protection for your clubs while you travel whether on a plane or in a car. If you think that you will travel mainly by car then a soft golf travel bag would most likely be the best choice for you. They are lightweight and compact. Alternatively for those who travel by plane, a hard travel would be the ideal choice.

Questions About Ladies Golf Bags

As more and more ladies are playing golf, we get asked quite a bit about ladies golf bags. With that being said, I thought I might include the majority of an article we wrote. The article is called 5 Questions To Ask Yourself Before You Buy A Ladies Golf Bag. The questions are as follows:

Walk Or Ride? – The first question you must answer is do you walk some of your rounds of golf or do you ride in a golf cart when you play? If you walk at all then you will want to begin looking at the golf stand bags. These bags are unisex from a how they are built standpoint. Sometimes these types of bags will be called a ladies golf bag due to the color of the bag.

If you ride when your play golf them you will have the option of a carry bag or a golf cart bag. A cart bag is typically much heavier than a carry bag and in turn is usually more durable. Again, these bags are constructed the same way and are usually called a ladies golf bag due to the color scheme of the bag.

How Much Equipment? How much gear and equipment you want to carry can determine the type of bag that you will be looking to purchase as well. Obviously you will need to buy a golf bag that is able to hold all the golf equipment and accessories that you will need during your round. This would include your golf clubs, golf balls, tees, sun lotion, hat or visor, snacks and any medications you may need to carry as well.

Do You Like It? This may sound funny but is an important question. If you are looking to purchase a stand bag, do you like the weight of it? Try the bag on with a set of clubs in it and properly adjust the straps so you can test how it is going to feel as you walk the course. Nothing is worse than buying a new carry bag and after three holes it has rubbed a blister on you. If you are looking at a cart bag, then since you will not be carrying it, how the golf bag looks is much more important.

Does It Have All Of The Features I Need? This is where the question of how many pockets and where they are located becomes important. You can now buy a ladies golf bag with up to nine pockets on it. Can you fit a jacket into the bag in case you get cold or it begins to rain? Do you need a pocket for a water bottle and do you need it?

What's your budget? It stands to reason that the more features on the ladies golf bag, the more expensive it will be. Prices vary depending on which type of ladies golf bag you decide will fit your needs. A ladies golf stand bag can cost between 50 dollars and 200 dollars. A ladies golf cart bag can run from 100 dollars to 500 dollars. This pricing is also dependent on the type of warranty that comes with the product as well.

We hope this helps you with your next purchase and as always if you have any questions, you can send them to us via email. Simply click the button in the top right corner of the blog.

What Type Of Golf Bag Should I Buy?

I have not bought a new golf bag in years! I am ready to replace the one that I have. Can you explain the differences between the different types of golf bags? I both walk and ride when I play so I am not sure which is right for me.

Golf stand bags or carry bags are definitely the most flexible out of the group of golf bags. Stand bags have evolved to become highly lightweight, practical, and comfortable to carry during your round or you can put them on a golf cart and still have easy access to each golf club while you play. Golf stand bags come in many designs and styles, with some golf stand bags offering more pockets, functionality and durability than previous carry golf bags. I would suggest that before you decide which bag to purchase, try on the bag with equipment in it to make sure it is comfortable for you. Go ahead and adjust the straps as you need them to get a good feel for what the action of the bag will be when walking on the golf course.

Many of stand bags have pockets that are placed high on the bag that will hold a water bottle or a cell phone conveniently. Other pockets can be used to keep your rain gear, snacks, medicine, towels, umbrellas or extra clothing. Pockets with lockable zips are essential to hold your wallet and other valuables such as watches and jewelry.

Golf cart bags are designed just as it sounds. They are made to ride on the back of a golf cart. They have a heavy durable body construction. Golf cart bags are great for the golfer who prefers to use a golf cart during their round. Golf cart bags are larger golf bags with more compartments for various golf related equipment. Cart bags are made of different materials such as leather and nylon. Obviously the leather bag will need more care than the nylon bag to keep it in great looking shape. Some golf cart bags even have separated cylinders for each club. This protects each golf club as well as makes pulling a golf club out of the bag very easy.

The staff bag is the golf bag that the PGA Tour caddies carry. The staff golf bag is the largest of the group and is probably the most impractical for most golfers. There is a reason they have someone else carry the bag! These tour bags are made of different materials such as leather and some of the new ones are made of nylon. This is done in attempt to make them lighter. Although they look great, much too heavy for me and I would not want to carry this type of bag during a round of golf.

The ultimate decision is yours, but the stand bag is going to be the most flexible for your needs. It may not last quite as long as a cart bag but it will not cost as much either.

College Golf Bag Straps

Most golfers are huge sports fans and will go to any end to support their favorite college team. Izzo Golf has allowed the golfer to bring this collegiate support to any carry bag or stand bag with the dual college strap.

The dual college strap for your carry bag or stand bag is easy to put on your shoulders with the patented rotator straps that keep the strap circumference long and accessible. It is also easy to take off as the material used to produce the golf strap is will slide off of your shoulders smoothly. In addition, the college bag strap can quickly be adjusted and is easy to adjust even while you have your golf bag on your shoulders.

Let’s face it. Walking a golf course is the best way to play the great game of golf. This method allows you to get the most exercise from your round as well as it allows you to take your time and enjoy the beauty that surrounds you on the course as well. The Izzo college bag strap allows you to do just that as the padding is anatomically contoured to your body to carry the weight of your golf stand bag more efficiently and give you more comfort while you walk. This happens because the dual strap automatically distributes the golf bag’s weight over both of your shoulders.

Izzo’s dual strap is quite the invention. Frank Thomas, Technical Director for the USGA proclaimed the IZZO Dual Strap System as the fourth greatest innovation in modern golf, right behind graphite shafts, the modern golf ball, and metal woods.

5 Things You Must Have In Your Golf Bag

Here is a quick list of Five things you need to have in your golf bag:

• Sunscreen – Let's face it, no matter what part of the country that you live in, you must protect yourself against the harmful rays of the sun. Even on days that to you are "not that hot." The damaging rays are still getting to your skin. I have seen fair-skinned people turn red on a cloudy day! Check with your doctor on how strong of a SPF you need to protect yourself. Sunscreen now comes in many different forms now to make it easy to carry with you and to apply during your round of golf.

• Golf Hat – Your golf hat will work in conjunction with your sunscreen to protect your skin against damage from the sun. In addition, a golf hat will keep the sweat out of your eyes on the brutally hot days. Ladies a golf hat will also allow you to keep your hair out of your face whether the wind is blowing or not. This is not very big and easiliy stores in a golf bag.

• Baggie for Golf Gloves – These is an easy and cheap way to make your golf gloves last longer. Keeping your golf gloves in a baggie will keep them all in one place and with the baggie sealed your golf gloves will last longer.

Golf Training Aids – This is obviously easier to do if you are riding in a golf cart and have a cart bag or a staff bag. It also depends on the golf training aids that you are using. For example, if you are using an extra shaft to work on your turn, the weight will not bother you even if you are walking and carrying your bag. Conversely, some of the putting training aids get vary bulky and would be difficult to fit into a golf bag.

• Ball Markers – If you are like me I use loose change as my ball makers. I like using the quarters of the states that I have visited. Goofy, I know but it keeps me off the streets. HAHA It always seems I need extra change around the club as well. You might collect ball markers from the golf courses that you have played and a second baggie will help keep them in one place and not damage them as well.

Golf Bags - What Are The Differnces?

We often get asked about the differences between a cart golf bag, a carry golf bag or a staff bag. Here is a quick rundown:

The cart golf bag is somewhat smaller than the staff/tour bag. Despite this you still require the help of a caddie or a cart because this sort of bag is still larger than the travel/bag. You could infer from the name that the cart golf bag was primarily meant for use in a golf cart. They have a lesser number of pockets and are usually made from materials of a lighter composition.

The carry bag also known as a stand bag is a smaller bag designed for those who are naturally attracted by bags of such sizes, like the name implies they were basically designed for travel purposes and meant to be carried by the player. They can be used for other purposes as well considering the needs for compartmentalization and minimalism in our daily lives. Such bags usually come with enough space for a limited number golf clubs and space for other golf equipment which may be needed during the game such as balls and equipment.

The staff bag or tour bag is the largest selection of golf bags available. They are much larger that the travel/carry bag or the cart golf bag. The average staff/tour bag will house enough space for about 14 golf clubs and other equipment which may be required during a game. A lot of professional golfers tend to use these sorts of golf bags, but they don’t carry them due to the weight, they opt for help from their caddies instead. The amount of equipment that these golfers can carry is as much as they would like. In order to suit the tastes of their end-users such golf bags may come made in leather and other sorts of expensive material.

Golf Bags

With lighter golf bags, the whole process of carrying your clubs has become simple and fun. Now we are starting to see more women, juniors, and senior players carrying their bags around the course. You can easily slide your clubs off your shoulders into the standing upright position in one smooth motion. The strength of the lightweight materials is 10 times better than before incorporating breath ability and weather resistance into every construction.

The available storage in modern golf bags has also come a long way in terms of how much there is and how easy it is to use. You don’t have to fight to get the zippers to open like on the older bags. These modern bags also have special compartments for your bottled water, GPS Unit, cell phone, and even pockets that lock you can secure your valuables such as your keys and jewelry. These hi-tech pieces of equipment incorporate perfect functionality features along with attractive designs. The feather light golf bags aid in reducing player fatigue which essentially will help. You will be able to carry a full set of clubs including driver, woods, hybrids, irons, wedges as well as your putter in a golf stand carry bag. You will also have enough room for your rain suit, tees, balls, gloves as well as anything else that you would need during a round of golf. To keep your golf clubs organized as well as provide protection for the golf shafts, many golf stand carry bags come with built-in club dividers.

Ultimately, you should buy your golf bag based on personal preference and style. Determine which type of bag you prefer, or have one of each for varying games. Then assess the features offered by each bag and compare them to your own needs and preferences as a golfer. Lastly, style can also play a role in your selection. Weigh these factors to select a golf bag that is right for you as a golfer and as an individual.

Golf Staff Bag

Are you thinking of using a golf staff bag? I have used a golf staff bag for years now and it makes playing the game more enjoyable. This is just no question about it. A golf staf bag gives me plenty of room to store everything that I may need during a round of golf. My golf clubs have plenty of space and protection so they do not get bound up while I am trying to pull one out to hit a shot or if I am trying to return the golf club to the golf bag after my shot. My golf staff bag also has ample storage through the many available pockets on the bag. It seems like it has a pocket for everything such as golf balls, tees, golf gloves, range finder, cell phone, water bottle, rain suit or an extra fall sweater. You get the idea.

Another great feature about a golf staff bag is that they can be customized to whatever you like. You can customize the material in which it is made. This can make the bag a little lighter, however, it is still not something that you would want to lug around for 9 holes let alone 18 holes. The choices are between leather and a nylon and polyester mix. The leather golf staff bag will be a little heavier and will take more care to keep it looking new. A nylon polyester golf staff bag is a little lighter and may make a difference depending on how much that you personally have to handle your own golf bag around the club.

You can also create a custom golf staff bag by the colors that you choose and if you have any logos added to your bag. Depending on the manufacturer, a rainbow of colors are available to make your bag and the color combinations are endless. Whether you just like certain colors or want to support your favorite college or professional team you can show your team spirit with your collegiate golf staff bag.

Golf Bags - The Differences

What do you need to know when you are determining the kind of golf bag that will best suit you? The biggest question that you need to decide is: Do you walk or ride most of your rounds of golf? If you walk the majority of your rounds, you will need a golf stand carry bag. You may choose to also have a cart golf bag for trips or special occasions. You will also need to think about your typical golf club and how your golf clubs are normally transported about the country club. Do you have to personally carry them quite a bit or is the staff able to assist you with your bag? I think that you get the drift, the more that you carry your own clubs the more you need a golf stand carry bag.

The largest bag is a staff bag or tour bag. Obviously, this name comes from the professionals that are on staff with a certain company to promote the company’s products. The second is the golf cart bag. These bags are typically not quite as large as a staff or tour bag and are meant to be placed on the rear of a golf cart. These golf bags are not meant to be carried by the average player during their round of golf.

The golf stand carry bag is a smaller bag designed for those who are prone to walk the golf course or have to transport their own clubs around the club. A golf stand carry bag can be used on the back of a golf cart. These lightweight golf bags are designed for the players comfort as they are carried by the player. Although these bags are light weight they can hold a full set of golf clubs (fourteen), golf balls, range finder GPS unit, tees, umbrella as well as a rain suit. These bags typically have room for a pair of golf shoes for when you travel.

The Difference Between Golf Bags

Perhaps the most basic golf equipment (after the clubs and balls themselves) is the golf bag. These bags come in a variety of styles with a wide range of features. Ultimately, the bag you choose comes down to personal preference, but there are some other elements to keep in mind. Whether you walk or drive will affect the bag you choose, as well as whether you prefer to keep a small amount or large amount of gear with you on the course. Golf bags have come a long way even in the past decade, so before you buy, especially if it has been awhile, take a moment to look at the options available to you in making your decision.

The simplest style of golf bag is the stand carry bag. This type of bag is designed to be carried over one or both shoulders as you travel between holes on foot. Because it is carried, the stand carry bag is generally lighter and has a simplistic design. It will have only the necessary pockets to reduce weight. Modern stand carry bags have high quality padded shoulder straps to reduce strain on your back. They also have fold out legs that support the bag as you play each hole.
The other type of golf bag is the cart bag. This style is, of course, intended for use with a golf cart. It is generally larger and has more pockets and would be quite a bit more difficult to carry than the stand carry bag. The golf cart bag is durable and protective so that your clubs are safe even if the cart jostles.

No matter which type of bag you choose, you will also be able to select between different design styles and colors. Choose a color and design that appeals to you, that you think expresses you as a golfer, and that you will enjoy brining with you on the course. See you on the links!

Finding A Golf Cart Bag That Fits Your Needs

Is it time to replace your golf cart bag? Depending how much you play, the golf cart bag is a very important piece of golf equipment. The reasons are simple. Obviously, it is very important because it assists you with the storage and transportation of your golf clubs as well as other golf equipment. With the size of a golf cart bag, you can easily carry your clubs, tees, markers as well as other things you will need during your round of golf. The bag itself does not necessarily have a direct correlation to your score however, it can allow you to carry items that could make your round of golf more comfortable and more enjoyable for you.

The basic golf bag comes in three sizes. The first is a staff golf bag or tour golf bag. A golf stand carry bag can be used on the back of a golf cart as well as carried by the player during the round. These bags are typically about 4 pounds in weight prior to adding your golf equipment. Depending on the golf you usually play, any one of these styles can suit your needs.

In determining the kind of golf bag will best suit you and the type of golf that you play, you need to first decide if you walk or ride most of your rounds of golf. If you walk the majority of your rounds, you will need a golf stand carry bag. You may choose to also have a cart golf bag for trips or special occasions. In addition, you will need to think about your typical golf club and how your golf clubs are normally transported about the club. Do you have to personally carry them quite a bit or is the staff able to assist you with your bag? I think that you get the drift, the more that you carry your own clubs the more you need a golf stand carry bag.

The golf stand carry bag is a smaller bag designed for those who are prone to walk the golf course or have to transport their own clubs around the club.

The staff/tour bag is the largest selection of golf bags which is available, they are much larger that the travel/carry bag or the cart golf bag. You see the professional golfers on TV use these golf bags. However, they do not personally carry them due to their weight. They travel with caddies to help them instead. The amount of equipment that these golfers can carry is as much as they would like and an average PGA Tour Bag is 40-45 lbs with all the equipment in it. The price for the staff tour bags is substantially higher than that of the cart golf bag or the travel/carry bag.

The golf cart bag is a smaller version of the tour bag. Again, these bags are deigned to ride on the back of a golf cart. The pockets are typically designed for easy access as the bag sits on a golf cart.

Determine your golfing habits and with this information make an informed decision on which bag would best suit you and allow you to enjoy the great game of golf.
