Putting Aids
I want to buy the best putting aid or the best putting aids to help me create a better putting stroke. I have been looking around at different putting aids however the more that I look it seems like the more confused that I get. I use a straight back and straight through method with my putting stroke. Can you tell me the best putting aid to use for this type of Dave Pelz putting stroke?
Thank you for sending your question to the VGS Golf Blog! This is a good question that more people need to understand before they purchase a golf training aid for their putting stroke or full swing that the training aid needs to match your swing mechanics.
A great example of this is as you prescribe to the Dave Pelz theory of taking the putter straight back and straight through; you do not want to purchase a putting arc. Although the putting arc is a great putting training aid, it does not get you closer to your goal of perfecting a straight back and straight through putting stroke.
Instead you should be looking at a putting training aid such as the Callaway Putt Track. The Callaway Putt Track helps develop a smooth and consistent putting stroke. You can practice indoor putting or outdoor putting as you can take the Callaway Putt Track anywhere. This putting training aid will ingrain the feeling of a straight back and straight through putting stroke.
Another great putting aid to help you build a Pelz type stroke is the Eyeline Putting Square System. With the mirrored Putting Square System, you can ensure that your eyes are over the ball, your shoulders are lined up and the putter face is square to your target line throughout the putting stroke.
We hope this help s you and if you have any other questions please feel free to email us through the blog again.
