Soft Travel Cover

I am looking at purchasing a soft travel cover in the near future. Will you outline some pros and cons of a soft travel cover for me. With the type of traveling that I am going to be doing I believe it will be sufficient for me.

Okay let's talk about a soft golf travel bag. It is typically made of a canvas type material and padded on the inside and they have a hard bottom to protect your golf bag. In addition, these type of bags have wheels to help golfers transport their gear from location to location.

Advantages to soft golf travel bags include that you can also carry other golf gear. Many soft golf travel bags, such as the Izzo golf travel bags or Burton golf travel bags, allow you to have extra room with the interior pockets within the bag that allow you to pack golf shoes, clothes or other golf accessories. In addition, this type of a golf travel bag will break down for easy storage in your hotel room or at home while you are waiting to go on your next golf trip.

Another advantage to a soft travel cover is the weight. In today’s climate, the airlines are very quick to charge you extra money for any extra weight that you will be bringing onto the airplane. A soft travel cover would be your lightest choice.

In contrast, some people do not think that these bags give you as much protection for the club heads as a hard golf case. In my experience, I have not found this to be true. I take my golf towel and weave it throughout the shafts to give some extra protection along with the padding. Again, I have never had a problem with a golf shaft breaking while on a golf trip. If you are not comfortable with this, then you can purchase a "stiff arm" golf travel accessory.
